The JETMAX division is one of Flight Centre Travel Group’s (FCTG) fastest growing brands comprising of BYOjet.com, Aunt Betty.com.au and Student Universe.

Based in Brisbane or the Gold Coast, (2 days in the Gold Coast office required) this role provides a great opportunity to partner with the business leaders and further develop your financial and business skills. The JETMAX division is focused on growing globally in all FCTG markets.

 

 

 

This role is primarily responsible for:

• Financial support to the JETMAX Leadership team, specifically the GM of the business
• The financial well-being and stability of BYOjet and Aunt Betty, addressing financial control, data integrity and the management of multiple overseas accounts
• Spearhead the transition of the Student Universe brand onto the Jetmax finance systems
• Key areas of focus are on growth, with cost management across the three brands through scalability strategies and looking at both the enhancement of existing revenue sources and search for new revenue sources.
• You will play a key role in forecasting and assisting in driving results. Managing a team of young financial professionals, you will need to be an exceptional leader that can motivate a team in a high growth environment whilst looking for further opportunities for them.
• You will be required to manage critical relationships with internal discipline leaders and FCTG expert teams.
• To be successful in this role you will need to have been previously successful in a financial leadership position and have excellent communication skills.

 

 

Accountabilities

Financial Control, Risk Mitigation & Data Integrity

• Internal and external audit requirements – no surprises
• Ensure our Balance Sheet is true and accurately reported
• Ensure a strong culture of financial control within the team
• Responsible for all required Head Office reporting and compliance requirements
• Work closely with management and FCTG finance experts to ensure business risks are mitigated
• Ensure due to large volume transactions that data integrity exists in all aspects of financial transactions
• Ensure financial controls and relevant checks are observed in this high-volume environment with multi-currency businesses

 

Commercial Support and Business Partnering

• Assist GM with commercial negotiations
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment
• Identify, recommend and implement revenue opportunities for the business
• Ability to voice concerns/opinions to allow for robust discussions about business strategy
• Perform on-going financial modelling around opportunities and forecasts for growing the business
• Identify process efficiencies in all disciplines of the business and aid in implementing solutions whilst working with the business leaders

 

Finance Lead for brand migration

• Finance lead within our project team, ensuring delivery of requirements and expectations
• Developing and managing project plans
• Managing all aspects of project execution, in alignment with approved project plans and strategic business goals

Qualifications

• 5 years plus experience required in a financial leadership role
• Previous experience with systems implementation highly desirable
• Experience in, or passion for, a fast-moving business is also desirable
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a finance related role
• CA or CPA essential with a bachelor's degree (or higher) in Business Economics or Finance
