About The Opportunity

Flight Centre Travel Group is looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer.

In this role you will be part of the core team involved in a wide variety of software engineering tasks to develop the company’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform. We are looking for an experienced member of the team who will be ready to take control over end-to-end software development process in Go language with emphasis on DevOps.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in developing technical solutions in CRM and using available APIs for external integrations.  This will include the evaluation of new and existing use cases, system integration approach and maintenance, design and customization fit-for-purpose, and end-user adoption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, Analyze and Document requirements in Atlassian Confluence
  • Design and Document and Prototype solutions and components
  • Create detailed visualizations using diagram as code tools like (PlantUML, Diagrams) and Miro
  • Develop and optimize high-performance server-side software (Go, Node.js, TypeScript)
  • Create extensive software test kits with unit tests and behavior driven tests
  • Debug, trace and monitor end to end message flows
  • Use OLTP database like DynamoDB for transactional data
  • Develop using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Salesforce CRM APIs for data processing
  • Integrate monitoring solutions from New Relic, AWS CloudWatch and X-Ray, OpenTelemetry, etc
  • Maintain AWS infrastructure components through use of AWS CDK with TypeScript
  • Build, Test and Deploy software with use of GitHub Actions
  • Transform data for ingestion into Azure Data Lake and Power BI platform
  • Self-disciplined and comfortable working in a remote environment
  • Collaborate with remote team members in different time zones (EST, PST, AEST)
  • Support solutions developed and maintained by the team to maintain high level of uptime

Experience & Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience on professional software development projects
  • Minimum 3+ years programming production deployed software written in Go language
  • Familiarity with common web services protocols
  • Understanding use cases of service side caching
  • Understanding of common web security problems and solutions to secure applications
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (JavaScript, TypeScript, Python)
  • Tenacious analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of CRM concepts
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases and PostgreSQL specifically
  • Familiar with basics of front-end development for administrative interfaces
  • In-depth understanding of multithreading, co-routines and streams
  • Experience with AWS Stack: Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, Fargate, ALB, VPC, DynamoDB, RDS PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, Redis, Kafka
  • Experience working with Docker (or other container technologies)
  • Knowledge of OAuth 2.0 flows including Client and Server development
  • Experience integrating with identity provides providers like Okta via SAML flows
  • Good working knowledge of Linux OS
  • Familiar with shell scripting and command line tools
  • Experience of using distributed version control tools such as git

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $113,000- $130,000. Base salary is dependent on relevant factors, including experience, geographic location, and job requirements.
